EVENT DETAILS
The Public Service Explorer Challenge 2023 (PSEC 2023) will be held in
conjunction with the Public Service Sports and Family Day 2023 (PSSFD 2023).
Participation is free.
The tentative programme is shown in the Annex.
The PSEC 2023 is open to civil servants and officers serving in Statutory
Boards, Restructured Hospitals and Government-Aided Schools, and
employees of registered former Statutory Boards.
Only team registration shall be accepted. Teams must register through their respective Sports Liaison Officers/Co-ordinator of the organisations via the online portal. Individual entries will not be accepted.
Each agency is allowed to enter a maximum of five teams. All the team members must be Public Officers.
Each team shall comprise 4 members.
On the day of the event, each team must have at least 3 players for points to be awarded.
An agency is allowed to register players from other government agencies. The agency registering a mixed-agency team must ensure that all the team members are eligible players.
Team members must produce their staff cards and Identity Card when called upon or in event of protest. Teams fielding ineligible players shall be disqualified from the event.
Only registered participants and accompanying family members will be issued with PSSFD tickets for redemption of fun packs and freebies at the event. They must bring along their tickets on day of event as no replacement cards will be issued at the event.
The flag-off time for the PSEC 2023 is at 8.30am. Teams must be intact and
present in person at the flag-off.
Before the start of the race, one player from each team must download the game app on his or her mobile device.
Each team must get onto the app with the assigned Team Name given to your team.
Teams are to navigate using the game app to locate the “hotspots” and to activate the tasks within each hotspot.
Players can complete the hotspots in any order they choose. They are not required to visit all hotspots.
Challenges are unlocked when teams arrive at the hotspots. Points will be awarded based on completion of the challenges.
The absolute cut-off time for teams to reach the ending point (hotspot)
at OCBC Square, Singapore Sports Hub is 11.00am .The game will be paused at 11.00am and no more task submissions can be done.
Teams must plan their routes and timing carefully.Teams must check in at this last Hotspot physically to qualify. In
addition, this is where each team will also receive a completion token of
$15.00 per team.
As we encourage everyone to be physically involved in this challenge, we
encourage teams to move from hotspot to hotspot by walking, bus or MRT
based on your team's planning.
All the team members must be together when attempting the challenges.
Points will be deducted from the team if found to be taking personal vehicles or all forms of taxi.
The top four teams with most points shall be awarded the following cash prizes.
Team Captains must be present to collect the prizes from the Guest-of- Honour otherwise the prize will be forfeited.
All participants will be given 1 bottle of water and MUST carry hydration (water, isotonic drink or other fluids) in form of a hydration belt, bag or bottle throughout the race.
For the safety of participants, all players are advised to walk / run on the designated path throughout the route.
Participants who require immediate medical attention may call the Public Service Amazing Race emergency hotline.
The PSEC 2023 will still proceed in event of wet weather
Participants will be given ponchos and are advised to bring along spare set of sports attire and umbrellas in case of wet weather.
Participants in a team are encouraged to wear their organisation's T-shirt or T-shirt of the similar colour if they do not have an organisation T-shirt. This is to facilitate easy identification of the team members.
There are no baggage deposit at the starting point. Participants are advised to travel light.
Teams must ensure that they have enough portable chargers
Teams must ensure that they have enough credits in their Ezlink card.
All participants consent to their personal data being collected and processed for purposes of administration
and communication in a particular event. Participants also agree to receive postings on other events
organised by the Civil Service Club.
All participating agencies and teams must comply with prevailing COVID-19 Safe Management Measures (SMMs) issued by Ministry of Health, Sport Singapore and the Organiser.
Participants are advised to exercise social responsibility. They must not show up at the event if feeling unwell or exhibit any symptoms of Covid-19 infections.
Any protest must be submitted:
a) by the Team Manager/Captain,
b) in writing using the official Protest Form,
c) to the Organiser,
d) together with a deposit of $50, and
e) within 10 minutes following the conclusion of the Public Service Amazing Race in dispute.
The Protest Committee shall comprise a staff from Civil Service Club and two Sports Liaison Officers/Team Captains not involved in the dispute.
The decision of the Protest Committee in any dispute is final and no correspondence will be entertained.
The whole team will be disqualified if any of its members confront any official or staff of the Organisers.
The Organising Committee reserves the right to revise the rules and regulations as and when deemed appropriate.
The Civil Service Club reserves the right to cancel, postpone or change the venue, date and/or time of the event at its discretion due to inclement weather or any other unforeseen circumstances.
Participants take part in the event at their own risk.
The Civil Service Club, the Organising Committee, appointed contractors, sponsors, appointed officials and staff shall not be responsible for any mishap, injury or loss of life that may be suffered by participants and/or supporters before, during or after the event.
The Civil Service Club, the Organising Committee, appointed contractors, sponsors, appointed officials and staff shall not be responsible for any loss of personal belongings.
