The CSC Virtual 9-Pin Tap Bowling (Doubles) Competition 2021 will be held at the Planet Bowl, Club CSC @ Tessensohn, 60 Tessensohn Road from 25 September to 10 October 2021. Registration is free for team comprising CSC members (including Associate, Supplementary), aged 18 years and above. Both bowlers in a team must be CSC members. The Competition comprise of three categories namely Women’s, Men’s and Active Agers (50 years and above as at commencement date of competition) Categories. A player is allowed to bowl for one team and in one category only. Closing date for registration is 17 Sep.


More Details:

1 ELIGIBILITY 1.1 The Competition is open to all Public Service Officers, employees of registered former Statutory Boards and members of the Civil Service Club. 1.2 Participants must be aged 18 years and above.

2 CATEGORY 2.1 The Competition shall comprise three categories namely Women’s, Men’s and Active Agers (50 years and above as at commencement date of competition), Categories.

3 NUMBER OF TEAMS & PLAYERS 3.1 Each team shall comprise of two (2) bowlers. 3.2 The Active Agers team shall comprise of 2 bowlers, of any gender. 3.3 A player is allowed to bowl in one category and play for one team only. 2/5

4 REGISTRATION AND GAME FEE 4.1 Sports Liaison Officers must register their team(s) online at www.csc.sg/stargames by the closing date. 4.2 Team members representing a Ministry/organization must be staff working in that ministry or organization. 4.3 Registration must be accompanied by online payment of registration fee otherwise it will be void. 4.4 Registration is free for CSC members and must be made at https://www.csc.sg/events/ before the closing date. Both bowlers in a team must be CSC members. 4.5 Switching of bowlers among teams is strictly not permitted after the closing date of registration. 4.6 All Teams must be registered. Participants are required to bring along their staff cards / identity cards / Membership card on day of the competition. A player who fails to produce the documents, if requested for by the tournament official, will not be allowed to compete in the competition.

5 FORMAT 5.1 The bowling competition will be held from from 25 September to 10 October 2021. Teams can bowl anytime within the stipulated dates. 5.2 Team Captains are advised to email Planet Bowl at planetbowl@csc.sg (Subject: CSC Virtual 9-Pin Tap Bowling) with your team name, preferred date/time to book the lanes in advance before heading to the bowling centre. 5.3 Players must comply with safe distancing measures in force. They are advised to go to the bowling venue in teams of no more than 2. Mingling across teams / lanes is not allowed. 5.4 At the bowling centre, Team Captains must inform the bowling staff that they competing in the CSC Virtual 9-pin Tap Bowling so that they will not be charged. 5.5 Team Captains must inform the bowling staff when they are ready to start their games and to register their scores. The consecutive bowling scores will then be taken as final and no changes shall be made. No scores will be taken if players failed to inform the bowling staff to register their scores. 5.6 Scoring shall be based on consecutive 3-games series in one attempt. 5.7 All games are finals and there shall be no separate rounds to determine the top 4 placings. 3/5

6 SCORING 6.1 Scoring shall be based on 3 games total series score of 2 players in a team. The scores will be based on one attempt. 6.2 Team Captains are advised to take a screenshot of their system scores for their own recording purposes. They are responsible to verify the correctness of their team scores for each game bowled.

7 PRIZES 7.1 Prizes will be awarded as follows: a) Top 4 teams in the Men’s, Women’s and Active Ager’s Categories Placing Prizes 1st $200 and 2 medals 2nd $150 and 2 medals 3rd $100 and 2 medals 4th $100 and 2 medals 7.2 Winners shall be notified on the collection of the prizes at Club CSC @ Tessensohn.

8 COVID-19 BOWLSAFE MEASURES 8.1 Bowlers are reminded to: a) No crossing of lanes. b) Face mask must be properly worn, covering the nose and mouth with an effective seal, at all times when bowling. c) Seek medical help if you are unwell and refrain from bowling. d) Maintain safe distancing with another bowler. e) Practice good hygiene, frequent use of hand sanitizer. f) No sharing of equipment.

9 ATTIRE 9.1 Bowlers must be properly attired. Male bowlers must be in long pants or jeans and collared shirt or polo t-shirt. Female bowlers should wear long pants / jeans / skirt and collared shirt / blouse / polo t-shirt. All bowlers must wear bowling shoes. A bowler who, in the opinion of the officials on duty, is not properly attired may not be permitted to bowl. 4/5

10 TIES 10.1 In the event of a tie in the Team Event, the tie breaker will be determined by the least difference between the highest and the lowest game series in the team. Should the difference tie, then the least difference between the highest and lowest game will be used and so forth.

11 DISQUALIFICATION 11.1 Any form of cheating, manipulation of scores or bleaching any of the game rules will render immediate disqualification and banned from further participation in this competition.

12 INTERRUPTED GAME(S) 12.1 The tournament officials on duty may authorize the completion of a game and series. An important game and series that cannot be completed must resume from the point of interruption. 13 LANE BREAKDOWN

13.1 If a pair of lanes becomes unusable or unplayable before or during the squad games as determined by the tournament official, any available pair of lanes provided by the bowling centre shall be assigned to affected participant(s) or shall wait for the next available squad. Any interrupted game(s) or series must resume from the point (frame) of interruption. Practice throws (if any) shall be given at the discretion of the Centre Manager.

14 PROTESTS AND APPEALS 14.1 Protest involving eligibility must be submitted in writing to sports@csc.sg not later than 24 hours after the game in which the infraction occurred or before the end of the tournament, whichever is sooner. 14.2 Protest involving error in scoring will only be entertained if such protest is immediately brought to the attention of the tournament officials. The tournament officials will immediately rectify any scoring error that is discovered. 14.3 Protest involving fouls must be brought to the attention of tournament officials before the delivery of the next ball. No protests will be entertained after bowler has made his/her second delivery of the frame. 14.4 Tournament officials will not entertain any protest or appeal if it is raised after one hour from the end of the tournament.
