INTRODUCTION CIVIL SERVICE CLUB 01
FROM Dear Members,
The Club has just appointed a new agency to design the Fusion magazine. The new design house is
THE Oculus Design and they will be supporting the Club in the production of the Fusion magazine over
the next 12 issues. There will be a contest to invite members to share their feedback on the new
revamped Fusion magazine where fve pairs of movie passes will be given to the fve best feedback
GMS provided by members. The Club would also like to thank Pagesetters Services Pte Ltd for the past
six years of partnership with the Club.
Over the past few months, the Club organised a number of mass events for the members, Public
DESK Offcers and their guests, and all of these events were very well attended. 320 participants attended
the National Day Wine and Dine held at Qian Xi Restaurant on 2 August 2013, where we celebrated
the nations continued prosperity and peace. The CSC Run By The Bay held at Marina Barrage on 25
August 2013, saw a great turnout of 3,650 runners, both for competitive and fun run. This was despite
the fact that the Straits Times was organising a ST Run In the Park 2013, at Punggol Waterway on the
same morning. We would like to thank all the participants for their unfailing support and positive
feedback about the professionalism of how the run had been organised.
The Club also organised a Productivity Race for BCA in conjunction with the Singapore Construction
and Productivity Week (SPCW). 100 participants, organized into teams of fve, visited fve construction
sites to view the latest building technology where the top three teams were given cash prizes for
answering questions relating to construction productivity at each site.
Over the next few months, the Club will be organising a few festive activities. First up is the
Mid-Autumn Celebration that will be held at CSC @ Bukit Batok. This event promises to be an
evening of fun amidst the verdant greenery of the Bukit Batok Clubhouse and beneath the
enchanting moonlit sky. This is a great opportunity for your loved ones and family members to
bond. Come 26 October, the Club will be organising the Public Service Family and Sports Day
2013 at Marina Barrage. It promises to be a morning of fun and games, featuring a tele-match
Charlie Ng competition among the Public Service teams, aerobic workshops, sea sports and a healthy lifestyle
General Manager, CSC walk. This is organised for the beneft of all Public Offcers, and there will be no entry fee.
We are also bringing back our ever-popular Childrens Christmas Party on 14 December 2013 before
we round up the year at our end-of-year Annual Countdown Party which will be held at Ritz Carlton
on 31 December 2013. As a thank you gesture to our members, we will be maintaining the same
members rate as last years dinner, so this is defnitely an event not to be missed!
As you might have noticed, the lobby and reception areas of Tessensohn Clubhouse have been
renovated and refreshed. Each pillar in the Clubhouse lobby has been adorned with a fsh tank
housing myriad species of fresh water tropical fshes. The interior design of the tree houses at Bukit
Batok Clubhouse has also been refreshed to complement the surrounding blue water of the pool and
luscious greenery of the wooded perimeter. The fnishing touches will be the added convenience of
toilets being constructed closer to the tree houses by end November 2013.
WE ARE UPGRADING AND MODERNISING ITS FACILITIES
TO MAKE THE CLUB EASILY A CLUB OF CHOICE FOR PUBLIC
OFFICERS AND THEIR FAMILIES. THE CLUB WILL ALSO
CONTINUE TO SOURCE FOR PARTNERS TO ENHANCE THE
VALUE OF OUR MEMBERSHIP.
The renovation of CSC @ Changi will be slightly delayed by about a month due to weather and
