Public Service Sports & Family Day (PSSFD) 2025 returned in full swing on 26 July at the Singapore Sports Hub — and what a day it was. Themed “Celebrating our shared journey, create our shared future” and held in conjunction with GetActive! Singapore, it drew over 7,000 attendees — the highest turnout to date.

A showcase of strength and spirit

Over at the Main Stage, Mr Leo Yip, Head of Civil Service and President of CSC, officially launched the inter-agency games with a flag presentation ceremony. As teams waved their flags proudly, participants geared up for friendly competition — showcasing their athletic skills while cheering one another on. Mr Leo Yip next proceeded to flag off the 2nd wave of the Olympic Day Walk.

Joy in every corner

The day’s activities stretched across three main zones:

A mesmerising moment from the Sally Bubble Show, delighting audiences with its playful spectacle.

• The Main Stage, where families gathered for magic shows, music performances and carnival games
• The Singapore Sports Hub arenas and riverside, where inter-agency games and dragon boat races brought out the competitive spirit

Visitors immersed in the Public Service SG60 showcase, which commemorated public service achievements and inspired forward thinking.

• The Visitors Centre, which hosted the Public Service SG60 Exhibition — an interactive showcase of public service milestones and aspirations

For first-time attendee Ms Christopher Santhiya, who is currently training at the National Institute of Education to be a full-time teacher, the event was a refreshing break from routine. “We’re exploring the game booths and soaking up the lively atmosphere. It’s also a time for us to bond as a family,” she shared, as her two teenagers joined in the fun.

Despite her busy schedule, Ms Santhiya makes time to stay active through brisk walking and jogging — and PSSFD 2025 gave her a perfect opportunity to bring the whole family along for a day of movement and togetherness.

This year’s games offered something for everyone, from fast-paced Dodgeball and strategic Tchoukball to the endurance-driven Indoor Rowing challenge — all designed to encourage friendly competition and team spirit among agencies

Among the enthusiastic players was Ms Jasmine Lim, who competed in the Dodgeball tournament. A former national softball player who once represented Singapore in the SEA Games and Asian Games, she found the sport refreshingly familiar. “Dodgeball is new to me, but it reminds me of softball — lots of aiming and throwing,” she said. “What I enjoy most is meeting colleagues from different divisions and making new friends.”

Meanwhile, over 120 participants of CSC Cycle were already on their scenic 33km coastal ride from CSC @ Changi to the Singapore Sports Hub. At CSC @ Tessensohn, another 14 teams were racing across local landmarks in G.O. Venture — an Amazing Race-style challenge that saw teams locating digital checkpoints before concluding their activities at the Singapore Sports Hub.

A moment of calm amid the excitement

Beyond the adrenaline of the day’s festivities, attendees also had the chance to recharge their minds and creativity at the Well-Being booths inside the Visitors Centre auditorium. The space offered a peaceful escape from the heat and bustle — complete with mindful art activities like name beading and figurine painting.

One visitor who appreciated the calmer side of the day was Ms Elaida Gacad, a workplace safety manager at the National Youth Council. She brought her parents and children along, hoping to get everyone moving and enjoying time together. “Family Day is a great chance to reconnect, re-energise and have fun while being active.”

Capping the day with celebration and surprises

For returning participant Ms Angeline Tan, the annual Public Service Sports & Family Day is a must-attend. “I had such a great time last year that I brought my mum along this round,” said the HDB officer, who was spotted queuing for complimentary refreshments. “She went to the CPF booth to learn more about retirement planning, and I made a beeline for the games and freebies. We also wanted to get some exercise, so we joined the Olympic Walk together.”

The day’s events culminated in a lucky draw where prizes were generously sponsored by Singlife and Dream Cruises.  Despite the unexpected downpour later on, attendees still managed to remain relatively dry and waited for the lucky draw announcements to be made.

Excitement peaked during the prize presentation for the inter-agency tournaments — and the much-anticipated lucky draw. The top prize? A StarDreams Cruises getaway for four, worth $4,500.

Ms Farahiyah Dina, a first-time visitor to the PSSFD, was stunned to hear her coupon number called. “It was pure luck! All thanks to my brother who signed me up for the event,” she said with a laugh. The teacher now plans to treat her family to a well-deserved holiday. “The cruise is for four, but we’re a family of five — I’ll figure it out!”

CSC extends our heartfelt thanks to all who attended PSSFD 2025. We hope you had as much fun as we did! Catch your favourite moments from the event and tag your friends in our photo album at the CSC Facebook page.
