Regardless of your life stage – an individual seeking personal enrichment, a senior looking to stay active or a family pursuing weekend pastimes – CSC has got you covered.

Read on as members share how the various activities, events and courses of the Club have touched their lives!

Personal enrichment courses

The Club’s over 800 courses and activities ensure that everyone – from youths to the elderly – has a place to hone both hard and soft skills.

Member Esther shared how the Club’s courses have sharpened her expertise and health. “There’s an exciting variety – CSC offers events from exercises and health to will-writing and the Lasting Power of Attorney. I’ve also benefited from the Aikido class I’m in,” she reflected. Cecilia corroborated, admitting that she has attended about 30 courses since joining CSC 14 years ago! Sharing that her favourite course has been the Pastel Nagomi Art workshop that she took up with her children, Cecilia recalled how she discovered her own artistic aptitude from the course. The avid learner has undergone baking courses too, applying her newly-acquired techniques in family meals. “The tips and advice given were useful and the demonstrations helped me to avoid potential pitfalls in my own baking journey,” she recounted. The member has noticed positive changes in herself from attending the courses. “I’ve gained new perspectives and creativity from attending the baking and craft workshops. I’m also more confident in my own abilities,” Cecilia warmly shared.

Where family and fun unite

Dedicated in bringing families together for rest and recreation, events like Children Halloween Party and Christmas Party allow kids to embrace their creativity and dress up in their favourite characters – all in all, heartwarming moments that bring families together by engaging them with activities such as magic shows, best dressed contest, and many more.

Member Cecilia appreciated how CSC provided opportunities for her to build heartfelt memories with her family. “My fondest family moment at CSC was during the National Day celebrations this year. My family enjoyed the activities and the NDP screening!” she enthused.

Senior-friendly initiatives

True to its belief of enhancing the wellbeing and health of its members, CSC has plenty of initiatives to keep its senior members active in mind and body. Activities like ballroom dancing, aqua aerobics, and karaoke singing allow members to build friendships with fellow seniors with the same interest and passion.

Online activities

For members who are too busy to attend CSC’s activities in person, the Club brings it to their doorsteps literally through technology! Offering a variety of complimentary webinars and workshops that range from craft to fitness, Club members can easily attend them right where they are. Member Shenton said, “The talks and workshops conducted via Zoom are my favourites. I’ve attended the yoghurt-making class and in a few weeks’ time, I’ll be going for the talk on skin pigmentation.”

Events loved by all

As part of the Club’s mission to provide a rich social experience for its members, CSC regularly organises social luncheons, carnivals, and parties – events that have often experienced sell-outs. Family reunions are often sighted at its popular Mother’s Day Luncheon while the annual Public Service Sports and Family Day spurs attendees to participate in healthy pursuits.

Perhaps the magic of CSC in being a place for just about anybody and everybody was no better summed up by line dance member Stella who gushed, “We’ve been gathering in CSC for many years, enjoying the bonding with friends, often attending its Wine & Dine, Lunar New Year celebrations together!”
