Tails Up turns 2 with a bang! With the support of CSC @ Loyang, pups and pawrents had a wonderful afternoon mingling, participating in games and enjoying the sun, sand, sea and wonderful outdoor space close to nature. 

While last year’s gathering featured sharing sessions with veterinarians and industry experts, this year’s celebration was all about giving the pups a fresh and exciting experience. “Here at Tails Up, we believe in letting dogs be dogs, letting them explore and just have fun. This event is also for  our community to learn, chat, have fun, and meet their fellow Instagram friends,” recounts the founders of Tails Up. 

Over 50 pups and 100 people attended the tropical paradise party. A theme befitting of the doggie-friendly bungalow at CSC Loyang, with its generous space, lush greenery and beautiful beach right at its doorstep. 

Besides socialising and enjoying the open space, pups and their pawrents explored various game stations, ranging from simple cue-based training to Stretcheroo exercises, water play and yummy Pet Cubes sampling. The objective was for pawrents to see what pups have learned at Tails Up and have fun in a new and unique space. Tails Up’s ethos has always been to provide better care for pups, and this can only be achieved by creating a community of like-minded pawrents working hand-in-hand together. 

Created in mind just for pups

Located at CSC @ Changi, Tails Up provides a landed living environment for pups, with 1800sqft of indoor space and 3200sqft of outdoor space, including a first-of-its-kind sensory garden - Sniffari. Here, your furkids can embark on the ultimate "sniffari", where doggy-friendly plants, scents and textures provide a stimulating sensory experience, both physically and mentally. 

In addition to Sniffari, Tails Up's outdoor area features Baskerville — a sunbathing zone for dogs — and The Playing Field, complete with mounds, steps, ramp, a sand pit and ample open space for zoomies. Indoors, the 1,800-square-foot, cage-free space offers supervised play sessions, a curated training curriculum and cosy quiet zones perfect for naptime.

Tails Up created the spaces with one key goal in mind: “letting dogs be dogs.” This means allowing them to sniff, explore, go on adventures and simply enjoy nature “ As play experts, we focus on reading canine body language to facilitate safe socialising. We offer a variety of enrichment activities, from Sniffari challenges to Stretcheroo exercises, alongside basic Maintenance and Life Skills training.” Says Joey Wee, founder of Tails Up. 

Catering to every pup's personality

Tails Up strives to provide a welcoming environment for all pups — whether they’re high-energy, shy or somewhere in between: “Our approach is up-to-date science-based, humane methods supported by rewards-based training. We use positive reinforcement methods suitable for both active and shy pups.” Joey mentions. 

To ensure top-notch care, the Tails Up team continuously reviews and adjusts the facility’s environment and activities. “For instance, some pups have trouble napping during the afternoon. We’ve made adjustments to our spaces, using lighting, music and spatial changes to better cue the pups that it’s time for rest,” says Joey. “We’re always evolving and learning from the pups.” 

Joey — who holds multiple accreditations in dog training, behaviour and canine nutrition —is also committed to continually upgrading their team’s skillsets. Tails Up draws from the best practices of local, international animal organisations, keeping abreast of holistic dog care methodologies.

Their dedication has transformed many first-time visitors into loyal customers, with their canine guests becoming familiar faces to the Tails Up staff. “We’ve watched pups grow from their playful puppy days into adolescence and adulthood,” shares Joey. “Some have even entered their senior years with us. We love watching them grow together with our team.”
