After months of effort and teamwork, the Public Service STAR Games Award Ceremony wrapped up the 2025 games on 25 March 2026. Over 140 Sports Liaison Officers (SLOs), Sports Convenors and Team Managers came together to celebrate the camaraderie and sportsmanship that make the event special. This year, more than 30,000 people from 38 agencies joined in games such as snooker, golf, pickleball, Scrabble, 7-a-side football, and many more.

Mr Tan Hock Leong, Chairman of the CSC Board of Games, opened the ceremony with a speech, thanking everyone for going the extra mile in supporting their agencies during the Games, on top of their day-to-day job. He commends everyone for inspiring their colleagues, in embracing teamwork and an active lifestyle through their participation in the Games.

Mr Tan shared potential plans to add new games and to work more closely with Sport Singapore. This year, participants can look forward to the exciting additions like the Vertical Challenge, Swim Challenge, and Singapore Urban Walk Challenge. Thanking the strong support for the Public Service Swimming Meet in 2025, Mr Tan announced it will continue at the WCH Arena, receiving loud applause.

The Ministry of Education (MOE) won the Division I championship, ending the Ministry of Home Affairs’ three-year streak by 4 points.

“We put up a very good fight against other agencies. Our strategy was to submit as many teams as we could to increase our chances of winning.” said Mr Jason Ng, the SLO for MOE, reflecting on their achievement. MOE also had strong showings in two sports, finishing 1st and 2nd in pickleball, and 1st and 3rd in floorball.

Mr Ng also praised the newer players for their efforts against other teams. “Since a handful of our players are retiring from service soon, we’re always looking to recruit new players to carry on their legacy.”

In Division II, the Government Technology Agency (GovTech) topped the rankings with 19 points, with stronger participation in games such as chess, futsal, and swimming. GovTech also emerged as the Most Supportive Agency award for Division II, having joined 33 games in total.

Mr Nicholas Kok, SLO for GovTech, thanked the staff and the agency’s recreational club, Play@GovTech, for their efforts throughout the year. “It’s a great initiative for staff bonding. The participating staff have fun while competing and see the Games as a way to relax rather than just a competition.” looking ahead, Mr Kok hopes to encourage more players to join and keep GovTech among the top teams.

While the awards mark the end of the season, the experiences gained last beyond the ceremony. For public officers, the games were a chance to recharge and connect with colleagues from other agencies.

The evening ended with joy, laughter, and promises to return even stronger next season. With camaraderie and competition at their peak, CSC wishes all athletes the best of luck in the 2026 Public Service STAR Games!
