Remembering the Old CSC@C

Remembering the Old CSC@Changi

The old site of CSC@Changi has a history that dates
back to 1927. Nestled within the main building was a
conservation bungalow built by Sir Manasseh Meyer,
a businessman and philanthropist. Circa 1933, the
bungalow was sold and used as a school for children
of British soldiers.

Six decades later in 1994, CSC took over the reins of
management. A nine-million-dollar revamp transformed
the premise. Whitewashed walls, new coats of paint
and pristine facilities quickly invigorated the look and
breathed new life into the building, which spanned over
43,600 square feet.

1996 marked the year the old CSC@Changi opened to
great fanfare. Multitudes of civil servants and members
converged at the Clubhouse and took part in the myriad
of activities it organised. Family ties were strengthened
here. Lasting friendships were struck up. Eternal
memories were formed.
