CouNtdowN 2013:

retro Glamour`

retro glamour was the theme of the night and so bold hairdos and zippy
outfts were a must. sporting guests showed up with carefully coiffed hair
and dazzled with retro accessories.

the new Years eve countdown kicked off with refreshments and plenty
of pre-event entertainment. Guests had fun striking poses and donning
accessories provided at the retro-themed photo booth. some queued to
have their caricatures drawn on mugs for a take-home memento of the
event.

the frst performance of the night was an exotic belly dancing number
by the shakira dancers. complete with glitzy, bejeweled costumes and
elaborate dance moves, the performance enthralled all present.
the visual feast was matched only by the sumptuous dishes served. Guests
enjoyed a wide array of dishes, from fresh seafood to roasted pi-pa duck.
it was a splendid dinner to enjoy on the last night of the year.

to end 2013 with a glorious bang, the stAr Games Awards were presented
during the dinner. the top four organisations in division i and ii of the
public service stAr Games 2013 were recognised for their glowing sports
achievements. president of the civil service club and Guest-of-honour
mr. peter ong presented trophies and cash awards to the winners.

the ventriloquist entranced all with his voice changes and hilarious
conversations with different puppets. the night grew even more magical
with the mentalist show nique demonstrated his amazing mind-reading
prowess, which left the audience mesmerised. he was spot-on with his
guesses of the numbers that volunteers from the audience wrote on a
whiteboard, hidden from his view. he also wowed everyone when he was
able to replicate drawings by volunteers.
