Whether you're a seasoned swimmer or just dipping your toes in the water, the Civil Service Club has aquatic experiences tailored to every age and fitness level. So, grab your swimsuit and join us at our clubhouses for these five fun and refreshing activities.

#1: Make a splash in the perfect pool

Every Clubhouse boasts an impressive swimming pool, catering to all kinds of swimmers — whether you're looking for some solo laps or a fun-filled Sunday with the kids, you'll find the ideal spot.

Head west for a splash-tastic time with the family. The expansive two-tier pool at CSC @ Bukit Batok offers a variety of water features that are sure to delight swimmers of all ages. The little ones can explore the children's pool complete with playground installations, drift along the lazy river, or catch waves in the wave pool. For those seeking a thrill, the eight-metre-high water slide promises a rush of excitement. If the sun gets too intense, part of the upper pool is shaded by a canopy, allowing you to stay cool while you relax or swim laps. Don't forget to unwind in the Jacuzzi after your swim!

The Olympic-sized pool at CSC @ Tessensohn takes on a new vibe on weekends. While weekdays are mainly about serious lap swimming and workouts, weekends transform several lanes into a family fun zone, complete with colourful inflatables and slides. Even on weekdays, children can still enjoy the wading pool, while parents can unwind in the heated Jacuzzi tubs.

For a blend of sea views and poolside relaxation, the swimming pool at CSC @ Changi is your go-to destination. Perched at the pool's infinity edge, you can soak in breathtaking views of the sea, while snapping the perfect Instagram shot. For the ultimate vacation vibes, let the breeze wash over you as you relax in the Jacuzzi, or go the distance in the lap pool for some exercise. Meanwhile, the kids can unleash their inner pirates in the wading pool's pirate-themed playground, making water play even more exciting.

A truly pampering pool experience can be had at the swimming pool at CSC @ Loyang, where the swimming pool is reserved exclusively for chalet guests. Book a weekend or weekday getaway at one of the bungalows, garden, pool or sea-view chalet terraces and enjoy access to this serene pool. Spend quality time with your children at the water play area or guide them down the mini-slides for a gentle introduction to water fun.

If you have never heard of Pulau Ketam, you will soon. Located just off the southwest side of Pulau Ubin, this hidden gem is home to mangroves teeming with natural biodiversity. Embark on a kayaking adventure around Pulau Ketam with Asian Detours, and you might just spot playful otters or laid-back water monitor lizards among the mangroves.

Besides the Round Ketam kayak tour and Mangrove Kayaking, Asian Detours offers the Paddle to Pedal all-day kayaking and cycling programme for those seeking a challenge. This adventure takes you through the serene backwaters of Sungei Jelutong, paddling past kelongs (fish farms), before transitioning to bicycles for the Ubin Bike Trail — a scenic route filled with historical landmarks and the occasional wild boar or monkey sighting.

Here's the best part: From now till 31 December 2024, CSC members enjoy 15% OFF the Round Ketam kayak tour and 10% OFF Mangrove Kayaking and Paddle to Pedal

#4: Energise your workout with aqua aerobics

The benefits of pool-based exercise are numerous. Besides reducing pressure on aching joints, thanks to its buoyancy, water is also a fantastic medium for strengthening muscles and enhancing cardiovascular health. Plus, you won’t even notice if you’re breaking a sweat — making it the perfect motivation to stick with your exercise routine, even on the hottest days.

Deep Aqua Aerobics takes full advantage of water’s resistance to make your workout as efficient as possible. The deeper your body is submerged, the more resistance you encounter. Combine this with the challenge of fighting your natural buoyancy and you’ll experience greater intensity in every movement. You’ll also burn extra calories compared to doing similar aerobic movement on land.

For a high-intensity, low-impact workout with expert guidance, join the Deep Aqua Aerobics classes at CSC @ Tessensohn’s pool. Classes are held every Monday from 6:30pm to 7:30pm, and every Tuesday from 8am to 9am, or 6:30pm to 7:30pm.

#5: Learn to swim with confidence

Whether you're a child or an adult, knowing how to swim is an essential life skill that offers more than just safety — it’s a full-body workout that boosts physical health and instils confidence. Plus, being in the water has a calming effect, making it a great way to reduce stress.

The Children and Adults Swimming Lessons at CSC @ Tessensohn provide a safe, inclusive environment where participants of all ages can learn basic water survival techniques, swimming strokes and more. Under the guidance of an experienced instructor, you'll build your swimming skills and confidence over a 12-week class term.
