ITS a day dominated by the teams from the Ministry of Education (MOE) as they
secured the top three spots in the fiercely contested Public Service Netball
Tournament held at CCAB Netball Court on Saturday, 13 Apr 2013. A total of 30 teams

This year, MOEs players improved on their skill in attack and defence and
the training put in by taking part in friendly matches paid off. With stunning passes,
handwork and footwork, the teams retained its winning title yet again! It was beyond
awesomeness for team captain Irene Heng as it wasnt easy for them to overcome MoEs Netball players: Winners as well as friends

attributes to their victory.
As put by Irene, playing netball involves a positive workout that engages the body physically, mentally and socially. It
is a whole health package where we can look forward to a challenging experience with fun and interaction with others. The
MOEs players have never looked back ever since we were in it! She strongly encourages all to take part in the wonderful
sport.

31 teams from 17 government organisations turned up at Club CSC @ Bukit
Batok on Saturday, 18 May 2013 for the Public Service Scrabble Competition.
They engaged in an extensive word play with some delivering triple word scores
and producing the coup de grace on opponents. In the end, amid shouts of joy,
the Land Transport Authoritys (LTA) team emerged triumph in this competitive
mind sport of which expert knowledge of the English dictionary is required.
LTAs team convenor, Lim Sun Kiat said it all started when I joined LTA Undefeated experts of the word game from LTa
and chanced upon my colleagues playing the game. The (words) they used
in the games prompted me to find out the meanings and explore more strange words like
ataxia or zapateo that help players get a high score. Sun Kiat has been playing scrabble together with different divisions
within LTA. Relationships were fostered through the weekly sessions during lunch and after office hours. A bond between
these lifelong lovers of Scrabble was thus cemented. The team thanked the Club for organising the competition and the

and technique; denied the MOE team the top spot for the fourth year in a Fourth championship title for Team MoH!
row and laid claim to the championship title! MOE had to be contented with
