App Creators: Design and Code a Quiz App

Apps are everywhere! But have you ever wondered how these apps are created?
In this workshop:
Learn to design to build mobile apps with Thunkable, a visual programming platform that allows even kids to build fully functional apps.
Learn the basic principles of user design, sketch out apps with wireframes and then design the app interface.
Then learn fundamental programming concepts and apply them to control the behaviour & logic of your app.
Deploy the app on their own phones, both iOS & Android devices and empower them with the potential to impact the world!

Skills acquired:
• Learn to design UI user interfaces using buttons, labels, canvas, text boxes, images, alignments and much more.
• Learn how to use touch and swipe on screen to play the game.
• Learn to create animations on mobile screen.
• Basic coding concepts like sequencing, events, loops, lists, variables, conditionals and so on.

Micro:bit Stem Workshop - Traffic Lights

Nowadays, everywhere you look are little computers that help us in our daily life. Ever wonder how smartphones or fitness trackers, traffic lights work under the hood? This workshop is great for peeking interest in STEM and teaching coding fundamentals, and we start with with drag-and-drop coding the micro:bit. The micro:bit is a small, fully programmable computer that fits in your hands. It has buttons, touch sensors, motion sensors and even a small screen! During the workshop, we will build some fun and exciting app of traffic light on the micro:bit exposing the participants to its capabilities, teaching them programming skills, and inspiring them to take coding further. The micro:bit is a great introduction to get a head start learning an increasingly important skillset.

Skills acquired:
• Learn about input and output devices.
• Learn how electronic devices work.
• Basic coding concepts like sequencing, events, loops, lists, variables, conditionals and so on.
